This is very important part of custom manufacturing. Please read carefully and "measure twice before you cut". We cannot answer for wrong body measurements.
Find a friend that will help you - sadly you cannot do it in one person only.
There is a lot of numbers needed for a complete costume but do not worry. Wear some clothes that aren't too thick or be just in your undergarments. First take a ribbon or a thin band and wrap it around your waist line. Make sure it fits in the narrowest pace of your waist. This will help you fix the line for all the "lengths". Now you need just a pen, paper and measuring-tape (if you don't have any, take a lot of cord/ribbon, scissors and a normal ruler. This will be slower, but it is OK).
Please if you can, measure in centimeters for easier work with our patterns. Thank you.
(budou obrazky s cislickami)
1 / circumference of chest: measured around your chest in broadest place
2/ circumference under breasts: measure under your breasts in the line where your bra fits
3/ circumference of waist: just where your ribbon is
4/ circumference of hips: this is tricky - it is not where your hip jeans have their top margin, but in the broadest place, usually around your hip joints, not the top edge of pelvis. Remember where this level is and measure:
5/ depth of hips: measured from waist line to hip level on the side of the body
6/ front length: measured in front from your seventh vertebra beside neck to the waist line.
7/ back length: measured at the back form the seventh vertebra to the waist line.
8/ length of breasts: measured in front from your seventh vertebra to the tip of breast
9/ width of back: measure at the back, hand alongside the body, from one top of armpit to the other
10/ width of shoulder: from the base of neck to the shoulder joint
11/ circumference of the neck: around the base of neck
12/ length of the arm: from the shoulder joint to the wrist, arm slightly bends
13/ circumference of the arm: person that measure uses 3 fingers of the hand and having them perpendicularly on the arm takes the measurement in the broadest area of the arm
14/ depth of squat : seat yourself on a narrow surface. Measurement is taken from waistline to the desk
15/ length of leg : from waist line to ankle on the side of the body
And finally : we don't want our belly to be covered, so trousers and skirts are hip line. We need to know also:
16/ hip cut: from waistline to the line where you wish you trousers to have top margin- measured on the side of the body.
